Scheduling Specialist at UM Health-Sparrow Lansing, named July Team Member Spotlight
Mindy Senko, a Scheduling Specialist at the UM Health-Sparrow Heart and Vascular program, has been named the July Team Member Spotlight for her extraordinary work behind the scenes and her unwavering kindness toward patients and colleagues.
Senko, who serves as the check-in and checkout guru, is known across the program as a patient trainer and a calming presence in a fast-paced medical environment. Team members describe her as attentive, approachable and always willing to help, whether she is guiding a new hire through the scheduling system or reassuring a nervous patient at the front desk.
Her impact, however, extends far beyond the administrative tasks of booking appointments and processing payments. Senko views her role as an opportunity to offer dignity and compassion to every person who walks through the door.
"I try to give grace to everyone I can," Senko said. "I definitely feel like we all need it. If it was my Mom coming through, I like to think that someone would be pleasant and kind to them."
That philosophy drives Senko to show up each day with a positive attitude, offering steady support to her team members and patients alike.
"Treat people the way you would want to be treated," Senko said, "and just show that grace, and just try to be the best person you can."
